Murano is the Venetian island world-famous for its glassblowing, a craft tradition passed down by local master glassmakers for centuries. During your approximately 45-minute stop, you can explore the island at your leisure: watch a glassmaking demonstration at one of the historic furnaces, stroll along the Rio dei Vetrai, or visit the shops and ateliers where pieces are sold directly from the producers.
Burano is the island of colorful houses and bobbin lace. Its brightly painted facades are the symbol of the island: tradition has it that fishermen painted them to recognize their homes upon returning from fishing, even in the fog. During your approximately 50-minute stop, you’ll have time to stroll through the narrow streets, visit the lace workshops still active on the island, and discover one of the most characteristic lagoon villages in the Venetian lagoon.
