Since 2026, Marco Polo Venezia has been taking passengers directly from Punta Sabbioni to the most colorful and fascinating islands of the Venetian lagoon: Murano, the world capital of glassblowing, and Burano, the island of colorful houses and bobbin lace. This daily route is designed for those staying on the Cavallino-Treporti coast and wishing to visit the islands without the hassle of a vaporetto transfer or lengthy detours via Venice.
La barca parte alle ore 10:00 da Punta Sabbioni e rientra alle 16:15: una giornata intera per scoprire due isole uniche al mondo, con soste incluse e guida a bordo.
Departure: Punta Sabbioni at 10:00 AM
Return: Punta Sabbioni at 4:15 PM
Price: €25 adults | €15 children 4–10 years old | Free for children 0–3 years old
Murano is the world capital of glassblowing, a position the island has held for centuries thanks to the master glassmakers who pass down their techniques from generation to generation. The stop includes a visit to a historic glassworks with a live demonstration of glassblowing: an ancient art that never fails to amaze, especially children. In the island’s shops and ateliers, you can purchase original pieces directly from the producers, with guaranteed provenance.
Burano is the most photographed island in the lagoon, but no picture truly captures the vibrancy of its colors in person. Every facade is painted in a different hue: according to tradition, fishermen painted the houses to recognize them upon returning from fishing, even through the thick lagoon fog. Beyond its colorful streets, Burano is famous for bobbin lace, the technique local embroiderers still use today to craft handmade lace. During the stop, you will have free time to stroll among the island’s canals and small bridges.
Return to Punta Sabbioni
The boat returns to Punta Sabbioni at 4:15 PM, in time to comfortably reach the accommodations along the coast before dinner.
